Tim was educated at The King’s School, Chester;
Liverpool University and the College of Law. He
trained at Lees Lloyd Whitley, qualifying in 1990
and became a partner in 1996.
Tim’s particular areas of experience and
expertise include construction and civil engineering,
road haulage, primary and secondary health care,
child care and care for the elderly, the traded
endowment policy market, the ICT sector and the
“not for profit” / charity sector. The
top end of the SME market (£10 - £20
million per annum turnover) is where the majority
of Tim’s client base operates but there are
notable exceptions – his two largest clients
started life as off the shelf companies and are
now the parent companies of groups turning over
in excess of £100 million per annum.
Tim is Marketing Partner for the firm and Head
of the Commercial Department, Tim also heads a team
of corporate and commercial experts who specialise
in all aspects of business start ups and restructuring,
the drafting of commercial agreements, acquisitions
and business sales, the protection and licensing
of intellectual property, e commerce and the law
of the internet, data protection and all aspects
of employment law. In addition, Tim is frequently
asked to speak by business agencies on particular
areas of business law and to provide training days
for LLW’s commercial clients.
Tim’s memberships include the Law Society,
the Liverpool Law Society, the Employment Lawyers
Association, the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and
Industry and the Liverpool Luncheon Club. Tim resides
in Chester with Maria and their two children. His
interests include football (both playing (with decreasing
regularity) as a member of Chester Nomads AFC and
watching as a season ticket holder at Manchester
United), cricket, tennis and all aspects of the
arts.
