Joanne graduated from John Moores University in
History and Politics. After completing the Common
Professional Examination and the Legal Practice
Course, she trained at the firm becoming a Solicitor
in May 2000. She attained a Masters Degree in 2002
and became a Partner in the firm in November 2005.
Joanne heads the Trade Union Employment Law Team
which undertakes complex and challenging work for
Trade Union clients including the Professional Trade
Union for Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric
Workers (POA).
Joanne is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Her expertise covers all areas of Employment Law,
both contentious and non-contentious. She possesses
significant experience in Discrimination Law and
claims for Unfair Dismissal.
Over the last five years she has had substantial
success in acting on behalf of members of the POA
and regularly contributes articles to internal and
external publications. In addition, she delivers
training courses in Employment Law for Trade Union
Representatives.
Joanne is secretary of the Merseyside, Chester
and North Wales Association of Women Solicitors.
On a personal note, Joanne is married and has a
keen interest in reading and travelling. She is
also a fan of the Theatre and Liverpool Football
Club.
